Wherever I can, I use reclaimed metals in my work, typically from electrical cable, copper pipe and industrial offcuts. More unusual sources come from lightning strips, brass reclaimed from broken carriage clocks and worn out silver plated trays.

A few years ago, I found an old decanter tray in a junk shop, which had originally been silver plated but which had been polished so much that the plate was worn away entirely on the top.
